Kent State discus throw Reggie Jagers places 19th at NCAAs

One day removed from Matthias Tayala's national championship, Kent State University sophomore Reggie Jagers placed 19th overall in the discus at the NCAA's Division I National Championships in Eugene, Ore., on Friday at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field.

Jagers' best throw landed at 181 feet, 9 inches, which came in his first attempt. His second throw was 178 feet, 11 inches and Jagers' third-round throw resulted in a foul.

Jagers was the only Golden Flashes athlete competing on Friday, however, KSU will have three competitors from the women's program at the championship level today.

Sophomore Dior Delophont will compete in the high jump, sophomore Danniel Thomas in the shot put and senior Joh'Vonnie Mosley also in the shot put.

Delophont's event will begin at 3:45 p.m., while Thomas and Mosley will throw at 4 p.m.
