Morford scores 16 as Hiram women defeat Westminster, 53-50

Samantha Morford scored a game-high 16 points on perfect 8-of-8 shooting from the field, and also grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Hiram women’s basketball team past host Westminster 53-50 in a non-conference matchup on Saturday.

The Terriers (2-1) trailed 26-22 at halftime, but outscored Westminster (1-3) 31-24 in the final 20 minutes to grab the victory.

Calysia Smyers and Chelsea Kovach added 13 points each for Hiram.

Katie Hughes paced Westminster with 14 points.
