Letters: Crestwood superintendent grateful for levy passage

Published:

On behalf of Crestwood Local Schools, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Crestwood area voters, parents and residents for their support of our recent school levy. It is truly humbling to see such support from residents even at a time when so many in the area are still trying to shake off the effects of the "great recession."

The revenue generated by this levy will go to maintaining the excellent educational programs and activities that we offer our students. This includes maintaining current class sizes and maintaining a broad range of elective offerings for college-bound students and students who are working toward general graduation requirements.

Thank you to the many individuals and groups that volunteered their time to deliver the facts, allowing residents to make an informed decision, as well as those who showed their support through yard signs, distributing literature, forwarding e-mails, attending our community meetings and sharing the importance of the levy with family and friends.

Crestwood is an excellent district because of a community that places a high value on educating its children. Thank you so much for your support.

Joseph Iacano, Superintendent, Crestwood Local Schools
