Chester "Chet" Callebs

KENT -- Chester "Chet" Callebs, 71, died December 7, 2012.

Born July 11, 1941 in Barbourville, KY, he moved to and lived in Ohio since 1958 and retired as a carpenter with Ohio Carpenters Union Local 639 Cleveland and was a member of Dripping Springs Baptist Church in Hinkle, KY.

An avid card player, Chet loved Texas Hold Em and Poker. He also enjoyed travelling, was a car enthusiast and member of Coachmen Street Rods and Nostalgic Cruisers, and a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Kent Canadian Club.

Preceded in death by his parents Loyd and Nollie Carmack Callebs and his three sisters, Anna Lois, Corena and Wanda, brother-in-law Nasby Mills, nephew Lloyd Mills and niece Angela Callebs, he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Audrey; son Chester Ray and daughter Sheila; sisters Esselene (Virgil) Hammons and Shirley Mills; brother Dewayne (Greta) Callebs; and many loving nieces, nephews and special friend Charisse Gilliam.

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Monday from 5 to 8 PM, where Dr. David Weyrick will conduct service on Tuesday at 12 noon. Burial Grandview Memorial Park. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1815 W. Market St., Suite 108, Akron 44313.
