Susan Lynn Tisher, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Robinson Memorial Hospital, the same property she previously called home when it was the Tisher family dairy farm before the hospital was built. Susan was born Oct. 31, 1930, in Brownsville, Pa., to parents Ewing and Sara Porter.
She was a terrific cook and baker, and was well known for her fantastic pies. Throughout her life, she was an extremely generous and kindhearted woman who helped many people in need. Susan loved her family, friends and all those she lovingly included in her "extended family," and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandsons.
Susan is survived by her son, David Lee (Jyoung Min) Tisher; daughter-in-law, Theresa (Tim) Sebrell; sisters, Judy Neikirk and Becky (Frank) Bonham Smith; grandchildren, Joshua (Alecia) Tisher, Jarrod Sebrell and Grace Tisher; and great-grandsons, Scott and Riley Tisher. She is also survived by her niece, Lisa McMullen and daughter, Billie Jo; her nephew, Phil (Mary) Porter and children, Warren and Jace; her "adopted" son, Bob Wahl and children, Jeremias, Jonas, Silas, Luis and Margaret; as well as many more special nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Tisher; son, Warren "Scott" Tisher; and siblings, Dale Porter and Linda Thomas.
A memorial service will be held in her honor to celebrate her life at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 2, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church, 263 S. Prospect St., Ravenna, where she was a longtime member. The Rev. Stephen Sparling will officiate, and a time of fellowship will immediately follow the service.
