Edward White

Born Dec. 9, 1911 in Braceville, Ohio, he was the son of Edward and Rose (Brockway) White. He had lived in Palmyra since 1962 and was formerly of Paris Township.

Mr. White was a foreman at the Ravenna Arsenal and a custodian in the Southeast School District.

He was a member of First Christian Church of Ravenna.

Survivors include his wife, Christine, to whom he was married for 62 years; sons, James of Ravenna and Barry of Fredericksburg, Va.; daughters, Darlene Lougen of Mantua, Nelrose Eaton of Tennessee and Eloise Bennett of Ravenna; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Alfred of Arizona. Four brothers and two sisters died previously.

Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Shorts Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Dr. Russell Goldner officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.
