Born March 24, 1914 in Cassville, Pa., he was the son of George A. and Carrie (Heck) Curfman.
Mr. Curfman retired from General Tire of Akron after 25 years of service there.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church of Brimfield and was active in the Methodist Men's Club. He had been a Brimfield Township trustee for 16 years and was honored as "Citizen of the Year" in 1982 by the Brimfield Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Hulda (Neading), to whom he was married for 60 years; son, George (Diana) of Cuyahoga Falls; daughters, Mrs. Larry (Shirley) Overholt of Charlestown, Mrs. Greg (Jean) Just of Columbus, and Sharon Craig of Brimfield; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth of Columbus, Dale of Brimfield and Bud of Brady Lake; and sister, Louise Brooks of Tallmadge. His brother, Raymond, and sister, Hazel Riddle, died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Kent Chapel, and from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Friday at Faith United Methodist Church of Brimfield, with the Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Brimfield.
