He was born Jan. 9. 1932 in Akron, the son of Thomas P. and Miriam (Coble) Cooper.
He had been an area resident since 1950.
Mr. Cooper retired from Smithers Scientific in 1995 after 17 years in maintenance. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel (Di Donato); sons, David of Akron and Allen of Rootstown; stepsons, Tom Sapara of Streetsboro and Tim Sappara of Richmond, Va.; stepdaughters, Mrs. Ernest (Stacy) Brock of Atwater and Becky Sapara of Cuyahoga Falls; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his mother, Miriam, of Randolph; and brother, Thomas, also of Randolph. His father and his first wife, Marianne, both died previously.
Calling hours will be held at the family residence, 2732 Saxe Road, Randolph, from 3 p.m. until the 4 p.m. service Saturday, with the Rev. James Hammar officiating. Arrangements were made by the Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel.
