CASARES, Spain — Ross Fisher beat Anthony Kim 4 and 3 on Sunday to win the 36-hole World Match Play Championship final.

Fisher eagled the 22nd hole and birdied the next to take a 3-up lead at the Finca Cortesin golf course. Kim won the next hole before missing short putts at the next two, then squandering several chances to win holes down the stretch.

Fisher never trailed his American opponent as the first 18 holes were played in cool, overcast conditions. The sun finally came out in the afternoon.

Choi picks up 2nd win at Hana Bank

INCHEON, South Korea — Na Yeon Choi made birdie at the last hole for a 5-under 67 on Sunday, giving her a one-shot victory over Maria Hjorth and Yani Tseng at the Hana Bank KOLON Championships.

Choi and Hjorth played in the same group and were tied heading to 18, where they both hit nice tee shots to the left side of the fairway. Hjorth hit a 4-iron into a water hazzard, while Choi laid up in front of the green.

The Swede manage to save par, while Choi chipped within inches for the tap-in birdie.

Briton wins Senior PGA Professional

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — PGA Tour winner Bill Britton won the Senior PGA Professional National Championship on Sunday, closing with a 5-under 67 for a tournament-record 18-under 270 total and a one-stroke victory over Perry Arthur.

The 54-year-old Britton, the director of instruction at Donald Trump’s Colts Neck, N.J., facility, broke the tournament record set by Jeff Coston in 2006.

Britton made a 5-foot par putt on 18 to preserve the victory after Arthur (66) made an 8-foot birdie putt.

Series TV ratings highest since ’04

PHILADELPHIA — World Series television ratings are at their highest levels in five years.

The New York Yankees’ 8-5 win over Philadelphia on Saturday night in Game 3 received a 9.1 rating and 18 share, Fox said Sunday.

It was up 49 percent from the 6.1/13 for the Phillies’ 5-4 victory over Tampa Bay in Game 3 last year, which also was delayed by rain. This was the most-watched Saturday Series game since the Chicago White Sox beat Houston 5-3 in the 2005 opener.

Iowa-OSU

to kick off

at 3:30 p.m.

COLUMBUS — The Iowa at Ohio State football game on Nov. 14 will kick off at 3:30 p.m., the Big Ten Conference announced on Sunday.

The time was set by ABC, which will be carrying the game on a regional basis.

The eighth-ranked Hawkeyes (9-0, 5-0 Big Ten) are alone in first place in the conference heading into Saturday’s home game with Northwestern. The 15th-ranked Buckeyes (7-2, 4-1) play at No. 11 Penn State on Saturday.

Serena beats Venus in WTA

DOHA, Qatar — Serena Williams said she didn’t arrive at the Sony Ericsson Championships expecting to win.

Plenty of other people did that for her.

Williams bested big sister Venus again Sunday, winning 6-2, 7-6 (4) in the season-ending tournament for her third victory of the season. Williams also won Wimbledon and the Australian Open, and clinched the year-end No. ranking earlier in the week.

Women accuse Raiders coach

of violence

The former wife of Oakland Raiders coach Tom Cable and a recent girlfriend claim Cable has a history of violent behavior toward women, and asked that he seek help for his anger.

Sandy Cable and Marie Lutz said in seperate interviews on ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” that the first-year head coach physically abused them at various times during their relationships.

Lutz told ESPN that she remembers Cable hitting her “three, four times,” and said that she visited his house in January and found another woman there. Lutz said she demanded to meet the woman and that Cable grabbed her by the arm and eventually pushed her out the door.

Huskers’ Suh ticketed for

negligent driving

LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska star nose tackle Ndamukong (en-DOM-uh-ken) Suh (SOO) has been ticketed for negligent driving after he hit three parked cars on a narrow Lincoln street.

Police Capt. David Beggs said Suh had been drinking before the accident, which occurred at 2:20 a.m. Sunday, but his blood-alcohol level of .035 was well below the legal limit of .08.

Suh, who was driving a 2003 Land Rover sport-utility vehicle, said he struck the first vehicle after he swerved to avoid hitting a small dog or cat crossing the street. An accident report showed the Land Rover careened off the first vehicle, then hit two others on the other side of the street.
