Staff report
Former Kent State standout basketball player Haminn Quaintance was drafted into the National Basketball Development League on Thursday.
The NBDL acts as a minor league of sorts for the NBA.
Quaintance was drafted in the second round, pick No. 26 overall by the Reno Bighorns.
Quaintance played professionally in Israel last year. By playing in the NBDL, the former Golden Flashe is one step closer to making the NBA. NBDL teams hold affiliations with NBA franchises and could be offered contracts at any time.
