Martha Shaffer Plant, 71, of Southington passed away at her home Saturday morning, June 27, 2009. Martha was a 1957 graduate of Richwood High School in Richard, W.VA. She was employed by Packard Electric for 30 years, retiring in 1999. Martha was a member of the Leavittsburg Church of God and a member of The Gathering. She enjoyed golf, traveling and her constant companion Molly. Martha was very charitable to World Vision, Habitat for Humanity and multiple other organizations. Martha leaves behind her husband, Charles M. Plant, who she married on September 11, 1989. She also leaves behind two daughters, Lisa (Mark) Mitchell of Orlando, FL, and Trish Shaffer or Warren; three stepchildren, Linda (Wayne) of NJ., Elaine (Ken) of Warren and Charles M. (Kathy) Plant of Dayton; sisters, Ada Harker of Canada, Vada Taylor of W.VA., and Clara Martin of W.VA., Pauline Harrison of W.VA, June Strader of W.VA, Jean Phillips of IL., Dorothy Talbert of NC.; a step-sister, Nora Hackathorn; two grandsons, Justin and Travis of FL. and two step-grandchildren. Preceding Martha in death are her parents, brother, Ted Hanna an sisiter, Vera Harker. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am, at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum, with the funeral service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, also at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.
