WINDHAM TWP - Jack L. Ellet, 96 years of age of Windham Township, passed away Wednesday May 7, 2008 at Anna Maria of Aurora. Born in Akron, Ohio on December 17, 1911, he was the son of the late Charles and Kathryn (Hill) Ellet. A resident of the Windham area since 1950, Mr. Ellet was employed for 35 years by the City of Akron Water Works, retiring in 1971. From 1966-1992, Mr. Ellet was the President of the York River Mining Company of Windham. Jack enjoyed model railroading, having made a detailed train layout at his residence. He was a member fo the National Railroad Association, the East Ohio Lapidary Club of Warren, Ohio and Grace Episcopal Church of Ravenna. In recent years, Mr. Ellet became interested in his Scottish heritage and became a member of the Scottish-American Society, and involved himself in learning about the Elliot Clan of the U.S.A. Mr. Ellet is Survived by his daughter Nydah L. Ellet of Ravenna, 1 sister Betty Ellet of California, 6 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren. On April 19, 1955 he married Pauline (Rankin) Ellet who preceded him in death in 2007. Also preceding him was his son Charles R. Ellet and his daughter Lena Reese. No calling hours. A funeral service for Mr. Ellet will be held Friday May 30, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. at Grace Episcopal Church. 250 West Cedar St., Ravenna with Rev. Carol Evans officiating.
