Church Women United held World Community Day at Lake Brady United Methodist Church in Brady Lake at 1 p.m. Friday. This year’s program, “Piecing the Earth Together,” is based on Genesis and focuses on what members can do to help restore the Earth’s environment. Canned food items will be collected for holiday baskets for Kent Social Services. Refreshments will be served, and child care will be provided. Preparing for the celebration are, from left, Mary Marxen of St. Patrick Church in Kent, Elizabeth Francis of Immaculate Conception parish in Ravenna, Lois Little of Union Baptist Church in Kent and Ruth McKay of Lake Brady United Methodist.
