The family of former Ravenna resident Gene Cozart is asking for help with medical bills.

Cozart lived in Ravenna for 15 years, during which time he was employed with LTV Steel and served as president of the local union. He has always been an avid Harley Davidson rider.

After he and Denise were married in August, they moved to Texas to start their new life.

On Oct. 16, Gene and Denise were on their motorcycle when a car cut in front of them, causing Gene to lose control of the motorcycle. He was taken by LifeFlight to Houston, where he is now in intensive care with severe head injuries. He is currently on life support and in a coma. Denise suffered minor injuries.

Due to the extreme cost of his medical care, the family asks that donations be made in the name of Denise Cozart for Gene Cozart at Huntington National Bank in Ravenna.

Cards and letters may be sent to the Cozarts at 5525 N. Buffalo Circle, Willis, TX 77378.
