Open your heart to a homeless pet

I am writing with a plea for everyone to consider becoming a foster parent for a homeless pet. I am a volunteer for Rose's Rescue, and we are full at this time. The only way we can save more animals is if someone steps up and fosters an animal.

Fostering is very rewarding for me. I never thought I could do it, but have found the joy and fulfillment I feel when one of my foster dogs is adopted outweighs any sadness at their leaving. Gee, then I can help another homeless soul.

Many people do not know that the rescue pays all expenses for the animal. You provide the love and a safe home. It is easier to adopt out an animal that is living in a foster home.

Rose's Rescue also participates in the Prison Cell Dog program, so many of our animals have been trained already, which is an added bonus.

The rescue is in need of many things, but right now, foster homes are high on our list. Maybe you or someone you know can help.

Check us out at www.rosesrescue.net. You can contact us there or apply to foster or adopt. If you're looking to adopt, don't forget the Portage County Dog Warden Shelter and the Portage Animal Protective League.

Remember: Don't breed or buy when homeless pets die.
