The Mantua American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 193 met recently and reviewed plans for the Soup Supper to be held Friday at the Village Park Lodge.
The supper is open to the public and includes homemade soup, salad, dessert and hot dog bar for $6 per person plus 50 cents for pop.
The charter was draped in memory of Myrtle Mayfield.
Several Auxiliary members assisted the post by serving as casket guards at the recent funeral of Past Commander Steve Oros.
A letter was read from Crestwood Primary School Principal Tom Rauber, inviting the Auxiliary, Legion and all area veterans to a special Veterans Day program at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at the school, located at 11256 Bowen Road.
The school will have decorated halls, and the program will feature the second-grade chorus.
The Legion Auxiliary will meet at 1 p.m. Nov. 9 at the lodge. The Legion will meet at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12. at the lodge.
