s Rose Oni Lee Bates, Carey (formerly of Findlay) age 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2009, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, OH. Lee was born June 15, 1941 in Webster County, West Virginia to the late Roxy D. Holcomb. She married Dennis K. Cummings and they divorced. Surviving are two daughters: Shawn (Dennis) Benson and Trisha (Mark) Cole, both of Carey, seven grandchildren: Christian Benson, Findlay, TeOni (Derrick) Fisher, New Washington, Patrick and Matthew Benson, Elijah and Ethan Eatherton, and Keileb Cole, all of Carey. Two great grandchildren: Tristan Benson, Findlay, Trinity Benson, Carey. Also surviving are two sisters: Mrs. Paulette (Donald) Henley, Findlay and Carol Lucas, Michigan. She was preceded in death by step-father, Lester Ramsey and a brother, Cheneth Holcomb. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Findlay, where she taught Sunday School. She was self employed as a child care provider and retired from The Judson Palmer Home in 2008. Her final journey has been entrusted to Stombaugh- Batton Funeral Home, Carey. There will be no visitation. Private services will be held at a later date. A celebration of life will be at the home of her daughter, Shawn Benson, 215 W. Findlay Street, Carey, OH on Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 2-6 p.m.. Memorial contributions may be made to Dorcas Carey Library in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 West Findlay Street, Carey, OH 43316.
