The United Methodist Church of Kent recently re-dedicated its peace pole, which was relocated due to its building expansion. The new pole, a four-sided wooden column with the prayer “May peace prevail on earth” in different languages, was dedicated on World Communion Sunday. Those taking part in the dedication included the Rev. Dr. David A. Palmer, senior pastor of the church, youths Rachel Palmer and William Kulis, who led the ceremony, and Nelson Madden. Madden was primarily responsible for the design, procurement, and installation of the pole, and also had a major role in the dedication.
