The Parent Council of Portage County Mental Retardation/Developmental Delay recently hosted an afternoon community carnival at Happy Day School in Franklin Township. Throughout the affair, young and not-so-young alike took part in activities that included a number of games, raffles, face painting, temporary tattoos, food booths, and cake walks to music. In the photo at left, Sandy Osdyke, transportation employee shares her skills at facepainting with Raymond Michael, a student at the school. Volunteers and patrons shared so many special memories that the event will become an annual event. In the photo at right, Katie Searfoss and daughter Kaleigh McMullen combine efforts in a game both enjoy. Complimentary tote bags filled with prizes and other goodies were distributed to guests as they departed. The festivities drew a record crowd of community members.
