The engagement of Cherilyn Runner, the daughter of Terri and Paul Runner of Akron, to Michael Lawrence Ruppel, the son of Larry and Barbara Ruppel of Brimfield, is announced. The bride-elect is a graduate of Garfield High School in Akron and attends Stark State College of Technology in North Canton. She is employed with Acme in Montrose. Her fiancé is a graduate of Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy in Cuyahoga Falls and attended the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, Pa. He is employed with Hummel Construction in Ravenna. The couple plan to be married Dec. 27 at the Riverside Alliance Church in Akron.
