Christ Episcopal Church, 118 S. Mantua St. in Kent, recently observed the tradition of Rogation Sunday, the old English church festival when Christians would solemnly walk the boundaries around their churches, praying for the church's ministries and stopping at each corner to bless the land. After the service, they walked in procession along their boundaries and sang, with the children and choir accompanying them on musical instruments. They stopped at each of the six corners of the church property to say a prayer and bless the land their building rests upon.
