Two Cleveland men were arrested Friday for selling heroin after members of the Portage County Drug Task Force observed the suspects in a sale.

The two men, Ronald Lambert, 49, and Andrew Ubienski, 46, both of Cleveland, were charged with trafficking in heroin -- fifth-degree felonies.

"I've been around the task force a long time," Sheriff Duane Kaley said. "We don't see heroin all that often."

Kaley said the men were observed on Karry Road in Rootstown selling heroin, with an estimated street value of $45.

Kaley said the suspects delivered and sold three bindles -- or grams -- to a customer on Karry Road near S.R. 44. He said the suspects were taken into custody without incident at approximately 11 a.m. Each bindle carries a street value of $15.

Kaley said heroin trafficking in Portage County is not a trend he would like to see continue.

"Heroin is an extremely addictive drug, and is certainly a danger to the public," he said. "It's still one of the most addictive drugs."

The task force includes members from the Portage County Sheriff's Office, Ravenna, Kent, Streetsboro, Aurora and Garrettsville departments.

BILLSHANE, IT IS IN FACT easy TO DO, Donald Duck or Olive Oil can make F5 or F4 buy busts all day long. Just look in the paper. I pitty the man or woman Mowing their lawn with a few D.U.I./O.V.I. arrests, and may have had a few coldies. Look OUT, here comes your next F5 O.V.I. arrest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In spite of what "Wanting Justice" thinks, Kaley is most likely NOT in bed with drug dealers.
Kaley has actively busted lots of drug dealers during his tenure as Portage Co. Sheriff, but his problem is, he does not actively seek to work with other agencies.
By not NEtworking, he loses lots of great opportunities to find out about drug dealers in his county and to gain help to put them out of business.
Just because you report drug dealers to the sheriff, does not mean he can ran right over there and bust them. He needs to build a case.
that means buy drugs or find drugs.

It is not an easy thing to do. Lots and lots of drugs are being sold in Portage and sometimes it my take years to find a way to make a case against that dealer. Again, if Kaley would actively seek help from other agencies, he might do much better. But Kaley is too paranoid or self centered to play well with other agencies.
Too bad cause Mr. Kaley, as a person, is a fine man.
Oh well.

Every drug you can think of is around, and VERY common...EVERYWHERE! Everyone I know, knows a person or has a family member that is addicted to something. They NEEDED to put a stop to it, before it got this out of control. Now so many people are hooked, torn apart, and ruined...because the authorities didn't crack down years ago (literally)! Did they think it would just go away??!! I live in a small town (Mantua) and it is unbelievable, I swear it is these peoples extracuricular activity around here to do some sort of DRUG! It sickens me beyond belief, what happened??!! A drug dealer has no conscience (to know what that does to famlies) and they are actually cowards to have to stewp that low.

Kaley NEEDS to be voted out of office, he has his favorite drug dealers that he lets deal and he knows who they are, in my neighborhood, we have a couple that has been dealing drugs to everyone, crack, pot,
pills, morphine patches, but the woman has relatives in the sheriff's office and I know for a fact that they have been turned in at least 20 times in the last 5 years, but they are still operating their drug business in a trailer park in Ravenna and it was brought in person, directly to the sheriff, and he closed his eyes and turned his head and said HIS OFFICE would not investigate the dealers because of ties to the sheriff's office.

If you need instructions, you're beyond my assistance.

Hey, that's not funny. I was serious. what am i supposed to do act like a drug dealer? cars coming and going- loud disruptive, dirt bags in the area and make the rest of the neighborhood miserable? or shall I smoke them out with loud rock music like we did to Noriega in Panama?

Kaley thinks heroin hasn't been around in Portage County? And he's the sheriff??? This guy is a joke. And who voted him in?

If you've got a drug problem in your neighborhood, you know who the people are; I'm pretty sure you can make their life quite miserable, very easily, anonymously.

Do tell. this would be quite interesting to hear.

If you've got a drug problem in your neighborhood, you know who the people are; I'm pretty sure you can make their life quite miserable, very easily, anonymously. If it's a family member; you're doing them no favors, and may in fact be hastening their demise by staying silent. Start turning them in, make them want to go somewhere else, or better yet, make sure that they get caught. Maybe the Sheriff won't help, (and I'm fairly certain that he won't, and I'm also fairly certain that "he" has the names as well). But I'm sure that there are other agencies that will.

We need to take back control of our neighborhoods, to protect our families, and to make sure that we don't allow a new generation to become drug users.

What's your suggestion billshane342? I know that you've been out of the business for a few years, but we all know that you have your own thoughts about the situation.
