NEOMED Foundation board adds new members

The Northeast Ohio Medical University Foundation Board of Directors recently added seven new members, including:

n John Bastulli, M.D., a 1983 graduate, is director of anesthesia at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland, where he also serves as medical director, surgical services and operating room manager.

n Brian Cmolik, M.D., a 1985 graduate, is associate chief of surgery at the Louis Stokes Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Cleveland, where he also serves as chief of section of cardiothoracic surgery.

n Joseph Gingo is chief executive officer and president of A. Schulman, Inc. in Akron.

n David Koch is chief executive officer of the Jewish Community Board in Akron.

n Judith Barnes Lancaster, an attorney serving as special counsel to the Ohio Attorney General, practices privately in Canton and is principal and president of Global Management Group Inc., a sports and entertainment company. She is a former member of both the University Foundation board of directors and the university board of trustees.  

n Mehool Patel, M.D., M.B.A., a 1998 graduate, is an assistant professor of internal medicine at the medical school, an attending staff and medical oncologist at Summa Health System, Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital and Summa Health Center at Lake Medina. He is also in private practice at Summit Oncology Associates, Inc.

n Nicholas R. Sucic is vice president and controller at The Davey Tree Expert Company in Kent.

Founded in 1978, the Northeast Ohio Medical University Foundation is composed of health care, community and business leaders and is led by a 25-member volunteer board of directors. The foundation aims to strengthen the financial capacity of the university and to broaden access to high quality medicine and pharmacy education.
