Alcohol and speeding are being blamed on Wednesday's one-car crash on Brady Lake Road in Ravenna Township that sent two people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Trooper said the crash took place at about 9:31 p.m. Wednesday, when a 2016 Nissan Altima traveling southeast on Brady Lake Road approached the curves near the Norfolk Southern railroad overpass.

The Nissan went off the right side of the road, striking a stack of concrete barriers and also a front-end loader that was parked off the roadway, the highway patrol said.

The driver, 29-year-old Renee Palladino of Wadsworth, was transported by the Ravenna Township Fire Department to University Hospitals Portage Medical Center in Ravenna. She was not wearing her seatbelt, according to the highway patrol.

Her passenger, 34-year-old Andre Wilson of Akron, was wearing his seatbelt, troopers said. He also was transported to UH Portage by the Kent Fire Department, also with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the highway patrol's Ravenna post.
