The Portage County Board of Elections is recruiting poll workers for the May 7 primary and future elections.
The county needs around 600 volunteers to staff polls at its 62 polling locations around the county on Election Day.
To become a poll worker, applicants must be registered to vote in Portage County, have no felony convictions, and read and speak English clearly.
Duties include setting up the polling location, answering voter's questions about the process, and assisting with voting equipment.
Poll workers are paid $120 for their work on Election Day.

The deadline for applications is April 1.
