The board of directors of the Ohio Liberty Coalition announced today that they have elected Ted Stevenot, 48, from Union Township, as president and a member of the board. Stevenot succeeds Tom Zawistowski, who has served as president since July 2011.

Stevenot is co-founder of the Clermont County Tea Party in southwest Ohio and has been active in the liberty movement in Ohio at the local and state level.

He has provided leadership training to liberty groups around the state, including training in precinct organizing and in the use of blogging, web sites and social media.

Zawistowski indicated he will stay active in the liberty movement as the executive director of the Portage County TEA Party, which remains a member of the OLC, and as president of the "We the People Convention."

"The board would like to express its deep appreciation to Tom Zawistowski for his tireless devotion and leadership as president," OLC board member Jack Painter said. "We are extremely proud of Tom and believe he deserves high marks for an outstanding job. His unwavering commitment to providing direction, tools, and support has helped liberty groups throughout Ohio grow stronger and more effective."
