Alliance man charged after Randolph burglary

A joint investigation by Portage and Stark County law enforcement agencies resulted in the arrest of an Alliance man, who is a person of interest in several area burglaries.

Portage County Sheriff David Doak announced Thursday Jason S. Klaas, 38, of Alliance, has been arrested and charged with failure to register change of address as a sex offender. He will be arraigned in Portage County on a charge of burglary, a second-degree felony.

According to the Portage County Sheriff's Office, the burglary charge stems from a Sunday incident in Randolph, in which Klaas allegedly broke a window and entered a Hartville Road home.

Klaas is currently being held at Stark County Jail, but he will be transported to Portage County to be arraigned on a charge of burglary, a second degree felony.
