Fifth suspect surrenders in Cincinnati slaying

Associated Press Published:

FAIRFIELD -- Police in a northern Cincinnati suburb say a fifth suspect has surrendered in an apparent home-invasion robbery that left a southwest Ohio youth dead.

Fairfield police say 21-year-old Anthony Givens came to police headquarters Thursday afternoon with his attorney, then was jailed pending a court appearance next week.

Nineteen-year-old Julian Slaven was fatally shot Saturday night in his Fairfield home and police suspect the shooting wasn't random. Officer Doug Day said earlier that it appeared to have been "a drug deal gone bad." Police haven't discussed the roles the five might have played.

Givens, two other men and two 19-year-old women are being held without bond on charges of aggravated murder.
