A Ravenna woman who broke into a Ravenna apartment and stole a bag of items, along with prescription medication, in June has pleaded guilty to a felony burglary charge.
Jennifer T. Fiorilli, 35, of 153 N. Sycamore St., recently pleaded guilty to burglary, a third-degree felony, in Portage County Common Pleas Judge Laurie Pittman's courtroom. She faces a minimum of probation or up to 36 months in prison at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set.
Portage County Prosecutor Victor Vigluicci said the victim, a resident of the 600 block of Hazen Avenue, received a call from a friend on June 30 saying he had seen Fiorilli leaving the victim's apartment carrying a bag. The victim went home and found her apartment door open and the apartment "in disarray," he said. A window had been opened, the screen removed and her bedroom ransacked, he said.
An officer met with Fiorilli at her home, Vigluicci said. She admitted to breaking into the apartment to "retrieve knickknacks and things that belonged to her children," and to taking the victim's prescription medication, he said.
