Library seeks recipes for cookbook fundraiser

By Mary Louise Ruehr Published:

Members of the Friends of the Garrettsville Library are collecting recipes for a fundraising cookbook to be published this spring. The goal is to publish about 300 recipes. They will include old favorites, but also seek recipes that are low in salt, fat and sugar. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free would also be appropriate.

The deadline for submission is April 1. Recipe submission forms can be picked up at the Garrettsville Branch of the Portage County District Library during open hours. Recipes must be typed or clearly printed. Double check the ingredients and measurements. Do not submit a recipe from a commercial cookbook.

The group also seeks sponsors to help defray the expense of printing. Sponsors will be acknowledged in the cookbook. For details, call the library at 330-527-4378. The Garrettsville Library is located at 10482 South St. (in the Village Park). Library hours are Mondays and Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. It is closed on Thursdays and Sundays.
