Lions donate to Kent Social Services

Published:

The Kent Lions Club supported the efforts of Kent Social Services with a $1,200 cash donation from the club's fundraising efforts. In addition, members participated in the club's annual tradition of passing an envelope for cash donations from members and collected $310. Some members also brought in a number of toys and wrapping paper to donate. The Kent Lions Club supports Kent Social Services year round with members who regularly drive to the Food Bank for supplies and other members who collect food from area restaurants on a weekly basis. From left, are Lions Club President Pete Orlando; Dr. Jim Benedict, treasurer; Christie Anderson of Kent Social Services accepting the check; and Lions Lela Irving, George Pittinger, and Fran Hardesty holding some of the toy donations. The Kent Lions Club welcomes new members. Contact Jane Gwinn at 330-678-2239 for information.
