David James Collier and Jennie Ann Dinoto were married Dec. 3, 1942, in Niagara Falls, N.Y. The couple moved to Kent in 1953, and this year they are celebrating 70 years of marriage.
Their five children are William Collier, Robert and Linda Collier, Edward and Phyllis Collier, all of Kent; Christopher and Jennifer Collier of Ravenna; and Marian and Bruce Emerson of Murphys, Calif.
The couple has 10 grandchildren.
David retired in 1988 after being a registered surveyor in Kent for 33 years. He enjoys daily drives to area restaurants with his wife for lunch.
Jennie has always been a homemaker. An avid knitter, she recently completed two afghans for her grandchildren.
A party was held in their honor Dec. 1 at the Rusty Nail Restaurant in Twin Lakes, with 17 family members in attendance.
The event was hosted by their children. Daughter Marian and her family flew in from California for the special event. Their grandchildren in attendance were Cori, Chelsea and Millie Collier and Jakob, Samantha and Cade Emerson. Grandchildren David, Daniel, Kate and Erika sent best wishes.
