Spec. Anthony Avalos returns to U.S.

U.S. Army National Guard Spec. Anthony C. Avalos has returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

U.S. troops serve in South, Southwest and Central Asia, the Arabian peninsula, the Horn of Africa, islands in the Pacific, and Europe.

Avalos is assigned to the 1484th Transportation Company at North Canton. The specialist has served in the military for three years.

He is the son of Tony and Laurie Avalos of Brimfield.

Avalos is a 2004 graduate of Field High School. He received an associate degree in 2007 from the University of Akron.
