The Portage County Historical Society will host "Christmas from the Past" from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the historical society museum grounds, 6549 N. Chestnut St., Ravenna. The open house will showcase the Carter House, built in 1835 and the Strickland House, built in 1869. Other attractions on the campus will also be open, including the Indian Village. Staff members will be dressed in period costumes from 1810 to 1912. Refreshments will be served at the museum building, along with a special sale of old books and other items. The event is free and open to the public.
