Christmas Concert planned at Kent UMC

A Christmas Concert will be presented at 4 p.m. Sunday by the Goodyear/Stan Hywet Concert Band under the direction of George Martin. The event will take place at the Kent United Methodist Church, 1435 E. Main St. Hal Hall on tuba, left, and Roger Stiller on French horn will be joined by 40 other musicians, who will present an hour-long concert in the church sanctuary. George Martin's 11th annual concert will feature holiday melodies for all ages, such as Leroy Anderson's "Christmas Festival"; Mannheim Steamroller's "Hallelujah"; "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"; "Christmas from the '50s"; "Star of Wonder"; "A Gustan Holst Christmas"; "A Legend of Kings"; and "White Christmas." The event is open to the public.
