DAR to learn of Veteran Affairs Voluntary Service

Members of the DAR will learn more about the Veteran Affairs Voluntary Service when the group meets at 10 .m. Saturday at the Kent Free Library. DAR member Laura Dunlop and longtime VAVS volunteer will present the program. Volunteers of the VAVS assist veterans who are hospitalized in Veteran Affairs health care facilities. According to the VAVS, volunteers have provided more than 736 million hours of service since it was founded in 1946. The Old Northwest-Aaron Olmstead Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution welcomes guests and new members.
