United Methodist Women schedules April circle activities

Kent United Methodist Women circles have scheduled April meetings.

Miriam circle will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church in Pierson Hall. Dawn Singleton will discuss church youth activities; Barbara Ludick will lead devotions and the mission moment; and Joan Brubaker and Sharie Stranathan will serve as co-hostesses. Miriam and Janus circle members are scheduled to host the Kent Garden Club April 28. Members also will host Rotary Club April 15.

Members of Mary Reed circle plan to visit shut-ins beginning at 2 p.m. and gathering for dinner at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Pufferbelly Restaurant. Mary Reed members will entertain Rotary April 8 and 29. Altar flowers deliveries in April are the responsibility of this circle.

Rachel circle members also plan shut-in visits Wednesday along with luncheon at the Silver Pheasant Restaurant. Roda Rogers will lead devotions.

Rebecca circle will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Sally Ruckman. Singleton, director of youth services will present the program. Pat Lacy and Jan Taylor will co-hostess; Sue Harvey will lead devotions; and Nancy Johnson will give the mission moment. Rebecca members will host Rotary Tuesday and 22.

Janus members will meet at 7 p.m. April 7 at the home of Kristin Kalinowski with Shelly Aston assisting. David Palmer will present the program, Understanding Other Religions.

Devotions will be given by Robyn Havre and the educational topic about the Mennonite religion will be addressed by Connie Thompson. Members will serve and clean up at the April 28 Kent Garden Club dinner meeting.

United Methodist Women members, their families and friends plan to assist in the assembling of palm crosses at 7 p.m. April 11 in Pierson Hall.

UMW Sunday will be observed April 27 with featured speakers Karen Drotar, Johnson and Sally Dean, who will address womens social concerns around the world. Mission moment is the traditional blanket Sunday offering.
