Senior Center plans Niagara Falls trip

Portage County Senior Services Center is now accepting paid reservations for its June 2 overnight trip to Niagara Falls, N.Y.

The cost of the trip is $75, which includes bus transportation, one night lodging (double occupancy) at the Quality Inn Hotel, baggage handling, taxes, and a buffet breakfast the second day.

The bus will leave the Portage County Administration Building in Ravenna at 7 a.m. and should arrive in Niagara Falls around noon.

After giving the travelers time to check into their rooms and get acclimated, the bus will take interested individuals over the bridge into Canada. (Those making this trip must have a birth certificate or passport.)

The new Seneca Casino (Indian Reservation) is just two blocks away from the hotel on the American side. There will be compensations from the casino, but as yet the amount has not been clarified.

The hotel has been newly renovated and offers an enclosed pool. It is located just a short walk from the American Falls and Goat Island.

The cost of a breakfast buffet at the hotel for Tuesday morning is also included.

The bus will leave the hotel at 3 p.m. June 4 for the return trip to Ravenna.

Paid reservations can be mailed to the Portage County Senior Services Center, 449 S. Meridian St., Ravenna 44266, or dropped off at the center, located on the first floor of the County Administration Building.
