BRIMFIELD Balchak sisters named to deans list

Katianne Balchak of Brimfield was named to the Kent State University deans list for the fall semester with a 3.7 grade point average. Katianne graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron where she received yearly academic merit scholarships.

She is a senior at KSU majoring in early childhood education and is currently doing her student teaching in first grade at Davey Elementary School in Kent.

Rose Balchak of Brimfield was named to the deans list for the fall semester with a 3.7 grade point average at John Carroll University in Cleveland. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Louisville, where she was a National Honor Society member and a three-year varsity letter winner on the volleyball team. She is a freshman at the university, majoring in business, is a member of the womens volleyball team, and has been invited to join Phi Eta Sigma, the national Honor Society at John Carroll University.

The sisters are the daughters of Thomas and Kristabeth Balchak of Brimfield.
