John Sederwall demonstrated American sign language to an evening class of 35 students at the Mogadore branch of the Akron-Summit County Public Library. John is a certified interpreter for the hearing impaired who teaches sign language. Individuals ranging in age from 10 years to college age and senior citizens attended the three-session program. The students were there to learn to better communicate with the hearing impaired in the work place, with family members, or to add a valuable skill in the missionary field, or as an introduction to a college course. The library, located at 144 S. Cleveland Ave., will also arrange to interpret its programs for hearing impaired people. Call the library at (330) 628-9228 or visit www.ascpl.lib.oh.us for more information.
