The Akron Alumnae Association of Kappa Delta Sorority will host its Annual Shamrock Event for the prevention of child abuse. The Childrens Annual Fund at Akron Childrens Hospital will be the local beneficiary.
The fund-raising effort, from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, will be held at the Little Gym at 77 N. Miller Road in Fairlawn. Children bringing a $5 donation will be able to play at the gymnasium for the duration of the event. On sale will be raffle tickets for items donated by local merchants.
Eighty percent of the funds collected will remain in the Akron area with the remaining going to PCAA for nationwide public awareness programs.
