The second-graders at Tappan Elementary School in Ravenna recently celebrated the 100th Day of School by holding a canned food drive in keeping with the school theme, Sticking Your Neck Out for Others. The students challenged all the other grades to bring in 100 cans of food for the needy. The final count for the building was 512 items. Showing off some of the donated food items are, from left, Luis Leon-Peralta, Nate Kurth, Holly Ries, Nick Mullins and Domonique Sanders. The collected food was donated to the Center of Hope and the Skeels Lake Center in Ravenna.
