The Portage County Sheriff's Office will host its fourth annual Christmas "Cram the Cruiser" event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Acme grocery store, 1709 E. Main St. in Franklin Township.
Volunteers from the sheriff's office will be on hand to collect canned goods, non-perishable food items and financial contributions to benefit Kent Social Services and the Center of Hope in Ravenna.
Santa Claus also will stop by between noon and 2 p.m. to meet those who attend.
Portage County Sheriff David Doak said canned goods collected at a similar event prior to Thanksgiving helped provide food for 977 families.
Doak said the social service agencies currently have requests for help from 1,200 families for Christmas.
"I would like to invite all from the Portage County community to stop by to drop off canned goods and non-perishable items for those in need, and at the same time visit with me, Santa Claus and members of my staff," Doak said.

Why, if it's true is the new drug task force now renting from them? Jimmy Dimora, part two? CHAOS Kelly seems to be really bad news, beware!!!!!!!!!! My bet is Major "CHAOS" Kelly and Sheriff JOKE may have several lollipops to choose frome in FEDERAL PRISON?
