United Way seeks support during holidays

Ravenna- The United Way is seeking community support during the holiday

season. "This is the time of year that we really see the demand increase at local hot meal programs and food pantries" said Steve Kleiber, President & CEO of United Way of Portage County.

The campaign has a goal of $1,120,000 this year. This represents a $70,000 increase over last year's total raised.

As of 11/15 The United Way was a little over 40% of goal to date.

The United Way funds 43 programs in cluding some local basic needs programs and the 211 Portage information and referral line.

211 Portage is the best place to call to find help for food, utilities,or other basic needs programs.
