Unity Chapel of Light to hold a pet blessing

Published:

Unity Chapel of Light will hold a sacred pet blessing service on the patio of its fellowship hall (located at the back, left side of the church), from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, 503 Northwest Ave., Tallmadge.

In case of inclement weather, the service will take place inside the church's fellowship hall. All species of animals -- and animals of all faiths -- are welcome. This includes dogs (including K-9 police dogs, Seeing Eye and Pilot dogs), cats and all other types of domestic pets. All animals must be on leashes or in carriers or cages. All animals will receive a pet blessing certificate as a keepsake.

For precious pets no longer in physical form or those who cannot come to the service, "absentee blessings" will be offered. All animals will be blessed and their names read at the service. Call the church office for absentee forms (330-928-2108). The pet blessing service will be conducted by the Rev. Susan Wilk and the Rev. Holly Rowley. Visitors and observers (with or without animals) are welcome to attend.
