Ohio adoptive father accused of raping 3 children

TROY, Ohio (AP) -- An adoptive father in western Ohio has been accused of raping three children and allowing other men to have sex with one of them.

A family services official Wednesday called the allegations "heinous, horrific, awful," as state and local authorities investigated. The children had been adopted through a private agency.

Thirty-nine-year-old Kenneth Brandt was jailed Feb. 24. He's being held on $800,000 bond in Miami County Jail on three counts of rape and one of compelling prostitution. A message left for the county public defender's office wasn't immediately returned.

The Dayton Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/xYRVRr) that Brandt had adopted a 9-year-old girl and two boys and was in the process of adopting a third boy. Troy police say one boy, age 10, says two other men had sex with him.
