Simeone's dream Atletico start gets Valencia test

MADRID (AP) -- After a near perfect start as Atletico Madrid coach, Diego Simeone gets his toughest test with a visit from Valencia, while Spanish leader Real Madrid looks to avoid emulating Barcelona by slipping up at Getafe.

Atletico is unbeaten in four matches without conceding since Simeone's arrival, winning three straight to move up the standings in sight of the Champions League places. A victory on Sunday would put it within two points of third-place Valencia.

Madrid makes a short crosstown commute on Saturday to Getafe's Alfonso Perez Coliseum, where Barcelona endured its only loss in any competition this season.

Barcelona, which trails Madrid by seven points as it chases a fourth straight league title, welcomes Real Sociedad on Saturday.
